Your business doesn't needmore AI hype.It needs someone who builds.
I help small and mid-size businesses close the gap between “we're using ChatGPT” and “AI runs our critical workflows.”
The AI Gap Is Real
Every day, another headline tells you AI is going to transform your industry. And they're right — it will.
But here's what nobody's telling you: the distance between “I used a chatbot to draft an email” and “AI runs my scheduling, my inventory, and my customer follow-up” is enormous. And no SaaS subscription is going to close that gap for you.
That gap requires someone who understands your business, maps your workflows, builds the integration, trains your team, and comes back when something breaks. That's not a software demo. That's a Tuesday morning at your office.
The big consulting firms serve companies with 500+ employees and six-figure budgets. That leaves 33 million US businesses without anyone to help them capture the biggest technology shift since cloud computing.
That's where I come in.
About Randy
I've spent over 20 years solving complex technology problems for businesses of all sizes.
I started in IT infrastructure in the early 2000s — building enterprise communication systems for organizations ranging from small shops to Fortune 500 companies. I became a Microsoft Certified Master (one of the most rigorous certifications Microsoft ever offered), earned Microsoft MVP recognition four years running, and co-authored a technical book that became an industry reference.
At Polycom, I was the solution architect customers called when the deal was complex — and when my team was involved, deals were 3x more likely to close and 2x larger. At Modality Systems, I was Principal Consultant responsible for customer success across the United States.
In 2018, I founded a cannabis manufacturing company in Maine and built it from the ground up. More importantly, I used custom-built AI tools to transform how we tracked production, managed inventory, optimized sales, and engaged customers. We became the #1 ranked edible in Maine's regulated market — a family-owned company competing against corporations with 10x our resources.
Now I bring that same approach to businesses in every industry. I don't sell AI hype. I sit with business owners, understand their operations, and build tools that deliver measurable results.
How I Work
Every engagement starts with understanding your business. Not selling you software.
Discovery & Audit
I spend time in your business — watching how your team works, where the bottlenecks are, and where AI can make a real difference. You get a prioritized roadmap of your top 3–5 opportunities with projected ROI for each. No commitment to move forward. Just clarity on what’s possible.
Implementation
Once we’ve identified the highest-impact opportunity, I design, build, and deploy the solution. This isn’t off-the-shelf software — it’s a custom tool built for your specific workflows, trained on your data, and configured for how your team actually works. I train your staff and make sure it sticks.
Ongoing Support
AI tools aren’t set-it-and-forget-it. I provide monthly support to monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, optimize as your business evolves, and identify new opportunities. Think of it as having a fractional AI department without the overhead.
Typical Engagements
Real results from real businesses. Different industries, same methodology.
A family-owned manufacturer used custom AI to outcompete industry giants
Family-Owned Manufacturer
The Challenge
Large multi-state operators were dominating the market through sheer scale, driving prices down and squeezing margins. The company couldn’t match them on volume or cost.
The Approach
Custom AI tools for sales intelligence, production management, customer engagement chatbots, and a live product locator — turning fragmented, manual processes into data-informed workflows.
The methodology works for any business competing against bigger, better-resourced competitors.
A 12-person HVAC company stopped losing customers and money with two targeted AI tools
12-Person HVAC Company
The Challenge
30–40% of inbound calls went to voicemail during peak season — losing 8–12 new customers per week. Outdated price sheets meant every quote risked undercharging by $800–$2,200.
The Approach
AI-powered call handling with 60-second text follow-up and intelligent scheduling, plus a real-time quoting engine with live supplier pricing and automatic margin protection.
Two targeted tools solved both problems and paid for themselves before the first quarterly bill.
A small law firm grew revenue 32% without adding a single attorney
7-Person Law Firm
The Challenge
Attorneys were spending 40% of working hours on non-billable tasks — drafting standard documents from scratch, duplicating research, and fielding routine status calls. The firm was turning away 3–4 new matters per month.
The Approach
Intelligent document generation trained on the firm’s own templates, an AI research assistant indexing 15 years of prior work product, and automated client communication for routine updates.
AI didn’t replace anyone — it amplified everyone. Professionals focused on expertise, not paperwork.
Every business is different. The approach is the same: understand your operations, find the highest-impact opportunity, build and deploy.
Discuss Your BusinessWhat truly differentiates Randy from others are two things that are very hard — neigh, impossible — to teach: the ability to instantly know your audience and deliver messaging that speaks at levels from the field all the way to the exec suite, and his passion. His passion to solve business problems, help anyone who asks, and make a real difference. Whatever company he works with will feel his positive effects.
